Estrella Biopark, Magic Wood, Mundo de Adeveras (Make-believe world), Sesame Street Park, Kidzania, and Fundidora Park are some of the most representative theme parks. Meanwhile, the natural parks at Horsetail Falls, Garcia Caverns, Chipinque, La Huasteca and La Estanzuela open up possibilities for learning, relaxation and adventure.

City of Folklore

If you want to learn about northeastern Mexican culture, there’s nothing like Monterrey. The northern flavor is present in the food – cabrito (barbecued kid goat) or machacado con huevo (shredded beef jerky with scrambled eggs), for example – the music, the architecture, traditions, and the daily routine.

Cultural centers such as the Government Palace Museum and the Bishops Palace display the history of the state, and the latter also offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city. If your interest is the industrial history of the city, the Glass Museum should not be missed.

And the Mexican History Museum offers a tour of the country from the pre-Hispanic through to modern times. If you are in the downtown area, a the Macroplaza is the place to go to get a view of the city’s most famous buildings and monuments such as the Government Palace, the Commerce Tower or Monterrey Cathedral, as well as the precise spot where the city was founded.

To enjoy contemporary music, the Old Quarter (Barrio Antiguo) is the place to go, while if you prefer an evening of northern music, a visit to one of our rodeos is recommended.
